Another reflection

When I started this blog, one of my purposes was to report my opinions of stuff on the net...for lack of a better description. And to honestly report my progress/experiences.

I've had reasonable success with a company called Everydaywealth, until they changed up their complete approach and I didn't feel that it was something I could continue to represent. I really liked Ameriplan, but put that on the back burner when things between my personal life and business demanded my focus. And then a number of other online ebooks/opportunities while interesting, really turned out to be a bit more hype than substance.

I am building a website that I plan to monetize in the future. I am blogging my steps and progress here, My Journey with SBI.

I am keeping a list of things that if I read or see, I just do not invest anymore time or money with them.

Here's a list that I titled: Things I 've Learned and Feel are Just Going To Waste My Time

  • If the pitch says I have until midnight tonight to order.....Screw it.

  • Sales letters that tell you they are going to save you all this time, but will not reveal what it is EXACTLY they are using to be successful

  • The "If I can do this anyone can" ....that's not really true.

  • Almost anything that is brand new..reports, ebooks...and it's an affiliate link. I really like affiliate models, but I recently received an email from multiple gurus telling me about how this one person just released his brand new - must have - insider how to. THEY were privy to this and wanted to let me in on it! It was obvious they were just using their mailing lists to make some quick money. I DOUBT they had even bought a copy. Probably were given it to review to market to their huge lists.

That's wasting not only my time, but my $$ as well.

More to come on this later.

    The School of Hard Knocks

Over the course of this blog, you'll see a lot of reference to how HARD something is. Or how something isn't going so well! And it is the truth.

I hope that there might be a reader that stumbles onto it that through my experience there might be something they could relate to that would help or maybe make them laugh OR commiserate with....isn't there a saying that misery enjoys company????

In the header section I noted the saying STEP FORWARD. I like that attitude and even though I tend to write about some of the things that make me WHINE....I ultimately start each day optimistically with faith.

I found this today....Steve Pavlina has a very successful blog and he was interviewing Marc Allen. I didn't even get to finish it because right off the bat is an insightful truth and it motivated me to write today.

He quotes Napoleon Hill: Within every adversity, is the seed of an equal or greater benefit.

I am thankful to be reminded that there is OPPORTUNITY in every problem. The secret is found in how we think about/view the problem.

Check out that blog. I think it is interesting. It is helpful reading in dealing with the school of hard knocks!
