It's been over a YEAR...wow...
The last post I had made was in January of 2005....titled Business is Building...and noted that things had settled down.
If only I knew what was to come.
So much has happened that I really don't know where to begin again. I have thought about just starting brand new, but for now, I think I will just pick up from here and see where it takes me.
I have written that writing about this stuff that happens in life kind of helps you feel better. I think it also helps you kind of understand too.
For the record, the restaurant has something always challenging to face, almost everyday! I will celebrate 2 years in business July 12. About 20 other type restaurants have closed up in that time in this area!! So I feel fortunate.
Probably the biggest event was Cindy leaving the restaurant last July, and ultimately our marriage ended in divorce. I had just committed to a part time teaching position starting in August. So I have spent the last year hanging on trying to survive the daily pressures and challenges teaching 8th grade language arts and running a business (restaurant) that is open seven days a week...breakfast, lunch and dinner. AND negotiating a divorce...which at a number of times looked like it would get very ugly, but has apparently come to a peaceful conclusion. We'll see.
I still am excited about learning and using the technology available with the internet. A friend has been able to build a monthly income using Google adsense through his websites. It hasn't made him wealthy, but it is now allowing him to control his time.
I closed down the site about Colorado Springs I had, but am starting a new site called Pikes Peak Cafe. I am using it to get back in the swing using HTML and having fun with documenting living in the area for over 36 years.
