Welcome 2005

The year 2005 has arrived. Despite the some of the news around the world like the terrible tsunami tragedy and the situation in Iraq, there is still optimism for the coming year.

My friend Steve does somehting kind of neat every year. He publically shares his goals on his website, Coloradoguy.com for all to read and then at the end of the year, reports back on how he did. It's a good lesson and example for all of us. To share your personal goals is powerful. It is a truth that the importance is in the doing, not neceesarily in the accomplishing or the goals. And it is also a truth that the accomplishing of them begins with the stating of them! I especiallly like his essay at the end of the year reflecting back to them.

Reflecting on our past goals and experiences is something I probably have done too much of. :) I find that a blog is a perfect tool for this. When I look back at past posts, it is fun to see how and what I was thinking and doing. I think it helps figure out future changes and directions/actions to take.

Over and Over

One of the purposes of starting this blog was to cut through the hype and nonsense I found with the web. There is a whole lot of people getting ripped off out there. And the crap that people pull on others to make a buck is upsetting.

One thing I found in the "lets make money from home using the internet" crowd is that many of those marketing those ebooks/programs/tools etc are doing it with the same people over and over. If you go to this or that forum, you'll find everyone trying to sell the same people over and over. And much of the stuff really just centers on others hopes and dreams.

Anyway, my focus is the restaurant we started and my hopes/dreams are to continue to find that perfect business. :) I can not say having a restaurant is a perfect business, most described it as a HARD one....and it is.

I hope to put The Homestead on the map of the world wide web by making a web page for it. Look for that within a reasonable time.

Now Here's a Great Company

I also found a great company that provides a dental benefit package for my family and employees. If you need a benefit plan for dental/vision/prescription/chiropractic then check out AmeriPlanUSA. They are the nations largest/best Provider Access Organiztion. And best yet, their plans begin at under $12 a month. I am waiting for their testing of a medical plan to come to Colorado. It will be a fantastic product offered to all of us that so not have medical benefits.
