Perspective

Something I think about as I explore the opportunities developing with
the internet is the distinct difference in making money and making a
living.

Think about it. There is a HUGE difference.

It is my belief that most of the marketers out there are focused on
the first...making money. No question. All the hype, seminars, ebooks,
workshops, special reports...need I go on?...all these are aimed at a
person's weakness for greed.

Making a living is the way to go. As I work through the process of
finding a ways and means to work for myself, I am keeping my sights
set on making it in such a way that when it is all said and done, I
will not look back and see a life filled with regret.

I fond the folowing at the encouraging forum Martin Avis has put
together. Click here for daily inspiration.

The following illustrates what I am writing about today. Answer the
following questions for yourself:

* Name the five wealthiest people in the world?

* Name the last five Heisman trophy winners?

* Name the last five winners of the Miss America Contest?

* Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer

Prize?

* Name the last six Academy Award winners for Best Actor/Best Actress?

* Name the last decade of World Series Winners/Super Bowl Champions?

Now consider this.

Most of us do not remember the headliner of yesterday. The best in
their fields. The events and people that at the time the world would
have you believe have accomplished the ultimate achievements.

But the applause quickly dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are
forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Next questions:

* List a few teachers who aided your journey through

school?

* Name three friends who have helped you through difficult times?

* Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile?

* Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated, special or
made you laugh?

* Think of five people you enjoy spending time with?

6. Name a half a dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you?

Easier, isn't it...

The people who make a difference in your life aren't the ones with the
most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the
ones who care about you.

The first set of questions are what making money is all about....the
second set, what making a living or a life is about.
