It's a White Easter

After snowing for the past two days, we have a very
impressive Easter morning filled with snow. Inspiring
and invigorating. A couple of pics are posted at the
EDG forum.

I am feeling good about where the web site is presently
at. I have a decent base of content taking shape. An area
needing to be addressed in short order will be organization.

Not that I didn't think about this before hand, but
organization NOT being one of my exemplary qualities,
I can see that this will be a process that develops slowly
and through trial and error.

And here's an everyday guy reality check: You know
the saying if it sounds too good to be true....IT IS! ?

Well, if it sound like a piece of cake to do, IT ISN"T!!!

Reading all the sales copy out there would have you
believe that successfully doing these internet/online
things would be a snap! To that, let me be brief and
blunt:

B*!! S&%!

Granted, I have been amazed at how easy it is to do
html, manipulate a template, email, blog, re-size pics,
optimize pics, upload the pages, etc.

What is NOT EASY is the process of getting there! For
example, yesterday I spent the whole morning modifying
one of the pages on the site for use as a new feature,
only to find out it was not functional because of the
way I saved it! The good part is that the process of
screwing up has helped me know how to do it next
time better. I think.

John Foppe
In looking over some notes, I thought I had commented
on the story of John Foppe, but I could not find
the info.

Foppe is a guy that was born without arms. Growing
up, his family, under the orders of his Mom, was told
that they were not to help him in doing things that
he needed to learn to do himself. As a result, he
overcame major obstacles by developing compensating
strategies using his feet. You would not believe what
he can do. His feet became his hands.

His story is compelling. He teaches if you don't have
the best of everything, then make the best of everything
you have.

When you have some time, check out his website:

I see that he has written a book titled, What's Your Excuse?
I am putting that at the top of my list to read.

THE INTERVIEW WITH GOD
In a very round about way, I stumbled on this poem
a couple of days ago. Not surprisingly, it has been
extremely popular. How I had never seen it, or
do not recall seeing it if I did, is surprising.

In the spirit of Easter Sunday, I think it appropriate
to share it here, today. The author is unknown.

**I dreamed I had an interview with God.**

"So you would like to interview me?" God asked.

"If you have the time," I said.

God smiled. "My time is eternity.
What questions do you have in mind for me?"

"What surprises you most about human kind?"

God answered...
"That they get bored with childhood,
they rush to grow up, and then
long to be children again.

"That they lose their health to make money...
and then lose their money to restore their health.

"That by thinking anxiously about the future,
they forget the present,
such that they live in neither
the present nor the future.

"That they live as if they will never die,
and die as though they had never lived."

God's hand took mine
and we were silent for a while.

And then I asked...
"As a parent, what are some of life's lessons
you want your children to learn?"

"To learn they cannot make anyone
love them. All they can do
is let themselves be loved.

"To learn that it is not good
to compare themselves to others.

"To learn to forgive
by practicing forgiveness.

"To learn that it only takes a few seconds
to open profound wounds in those they love,
and it can take many years to heal them.

"To learn that a rich person
is not one who has the most,
but is one who needs the least.

"To learn that there are people
who love them dearly,
but simply have not yet learned
how to express or show their feelings.

"To learn that two people can
look at the same thing
and see it differently.

"To learn that it is not enough that they
forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves."

"Thank you for your time," I said humbly.
"Is there anything else
you would like your children to know?"

God smiled and said,
"Just know that I am here... always."

Isaiah 41:10
Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed,
for I am your God.

Happy Easter.
