What a week...

It is so true that nothing replaces experience!

This past week has brought me a months worth of stress and worry. First, Cindy has a melt down and basically walks out (she does return the next day with the day off to rest really helping her).

When I get back from the Springs after taking Cindy home, I have a note left for me that the breakfast cook (the ONLY one we have been able to find that is dependable and decent) is giving her 2 weeks notice! Oh boy.

I closed the restaurant till 4:45 P.M. to re-group and try to get in place how to do the Thursday night menu. Thanks to one of my waitresses, who jumped in and cooked the orders (and did a great job) we survived.

Friday night, with Cindy and a new cook in the kitchen, we were slammed and if they had not been back there, it would have been UGLY!

Also found out through a very trusted employee that there is someone stealing from the restaurant. Actually had a bottle of Jack in his backpack while I took him home! Kind of ironic that I was an accompliss to my buisness getting ripped off...LOL HE was already on a warning about his attendance and after calling in sick the next day, the next shift he shows up will be his last.

Thank goodness the rest of the people that work for us are GREAT people. I have 6 to 7 that I am going to provide the AmeriPlan dental/prescription/vision/chiropractic plan to as a employee benefit. When told I would do that for them, it was really neat how appreciative they were. Again, evidence that we are lucky they are working for us!

So to de-stress, I went to Cripple Creek and played Texas Hold 'em on Sunday afternoon...while the Broncos were decimated by the Colts. We were both losers that afternoon!
