Without Integrity...
One of the things that takes up a bit of my time each day is
visiting a number of forums where there are discussions taking
place on various topics. Each forum focuses on a shared interest.
For example, the FIB (Friends in Business) forum is one that
I have been reading for the past couple of years. Another one
I find helpful and even entertaining is the How To Forum.
Forums are powerful places. They are medians for ideas and
information which can be communicated lightening fast!
And when the information isn't good, that is good! Unless
you are the one being talked about!
What is going on?
There is some heated discussion happening right now
regarding an online Guru. It appears that his latest
and greatest product/service has fallen far short of
his marketing copy...aka HYPE.
This has caused a flood of requests for refunds. Refunds
that are not being honored. Much of the debate centers
on the reasons the refunds have been delayed. In my opinion,
I would call most of the reasons just excuses.
The reason for the request on the refunds is clear.
As one poster put it, the product was "crap!"
Her comment carries weight because she has an online
reputation of integrity.
Now this was a stupid question
One of the defenders of the product in question (he is
an affiliate, of course)posed this question in defense of
this product. The question was:
If XYZ product was so bad, would the likes of Guru #1,
and Guru #2, Guru #3, Guru #4 and #5 have put
their name behind it?
ANSWER: YES!
Why? Because they were looking to make a quick
buck! Duh!
Evidently, one of the Gurus has even admitted he had
not looked at or used the product. He is now spending
some serious time with damage control of his reputation.
A lesson for EverydayGuys
Integrity is everything! Everything is lost when you lose
integrity!
Reading about this online event is a lesson in the importance
of integrity and one's reputation. In business, it always has
been.
In developing an online presence and business, I believe my
success will be in direct relationship to how far I can establish
not my business but my integrity!
